Lady of the Sunshine

is a project dreamed up by winemaker and farmer Gina Giugni. Gina grew up on her family’s ninety acre ranch, Narrow Gate Vineyards, located in the Sierra Foothills of California. Gina is a second generation biodynamic farmer and winemaker, following in her father’s footsteps who stewards fifteen acres of Demeter certified biodynamic grapes on the family ranch, nestled just east of Placerville, in Pleasant Valley.

With the influence and inspiration of Narrow Gate Vineyards, Gina now farms 6.5 acres on the Central Coast of California, where she utilizes biodynamic farming practices in pursuit of making terroir driven wines, inspired by her family roots.

After graduating with a bachelor of science degree in Wine and Viticulture, Gina focused on working with different winemakers, in various regions, who placed value on responsible farming practices and making real, terroir driven wines.

After working in Beaujolais, France | Central Otago, New Zealand | the Willamette Valley in Oregon | and Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, Gina now calls the Edna Valley on the Central Coast of California her home.

The foundation

of Lady of the Sunshine starts in the vineyard.

Gina now stewards the Chene Vineyard in Edna Valley where she is converting the 6.5 acres to be certified biodynamic, making it the second vineyard to be certified in the appellation. Gina also works with other farmers to source grapes from other favorite organic or better vineyards on the Central Coast.

Lady of the Sunshine is a playful expression of wines that focus on farming and making wine without additives or manipulation. Lady of the Sunshine is farmed, crafted, and shared with lots and lots of love.
